š Strengthens the immune system.
šIt increases pain tolerance.
šIt reduces feelings of stress and anxiety, enabling individuals to recover from frightening or traumatic events.
Studies show that activities that make hospitalized children laugh (like clowning) help with recovery and also reduce pain and anxiety.
(Fernandes & Arriaga, 2010)
